Minor Surgery at Carrick Medical Centre

Often a suspicious skin lesion can be removed completely here in the surgery, before being sent to the laboratory for analysis.
We perform excision and removal of skin lesions, for example moles, suspected skin cancers, and common cysts.

Another option for larger suspicious skin lesions is a Biopsy. This is when a small piece of the skin lesion is removed, and sent for analysis. This serves to identify skin cancers without the need for a larger surgical procedure.

We also perform suturing (stitching) for cuts and lacerations, drainage of abscesses, wound care and dressings, and infection management.
