Some services are not free, even if you hold a Medical Card or Doctor Visit Card; please ask at reception for further details if you are unsure. These include the following:

Free Services:



Carrick Medical Centre participates in the free contraception scheme. Patients aged 17 to 35 years of age inclusive, are entitled to a free consultation and prescription for contraception. Please mention this when booking your appointment, or when in with your doctor or nurse. You will need your PPSN and you will need to sign a form in the Medical Centre to avail of this free service. 

Carrick Medical Centre participates in the free Chronic Disease Management Scheme. If you hold a medical card or a doctor visit card, and have a chronic illness (hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, asthma, COPD, stroke or atrial fibrillation) please ask at reception about booking in a free consultation with our nurse and review with one of our doctors. 

Carrick Medical Centre participates in the free childhood vaccination scheme.

Carrick Medical Centre participates in the free Cervical Check Scheme for women aged 25 - 65 years old.
